Would You Change?

Would You Change? Walking In Spirit And In Truth

Would You Change?

The word for Repent in Hebrew is “Teshuvah” or literally, “Return to The King’s Instructions for Life”.

Through the long and frustrating years of making the wrong turns, which always led to spiritual dead ends, shady hitchhikers for friends, running out of emotional fuel, and a very bumpy ride in general, I finally started looking at His map. Hopefully one day, I will follow His map more than my own.

Obedience is following His Map for life. Faith is following His map even when you don’t understand, and even when the road gets rocky or lonely, still following His map instead of your own.

Letter to the Romans 7:22
“For I delight in the law of God according to the inward man.

His map tells us when to take a rest stop (Sabbath) when to stop for the night (Holy Days) what to eat along the way (Levitical Diet), which passengers to take on and which to leave behind (do not be unequally yoked), and the remind us to fuel up our vehicle with prayer and presence. He even reminds us to get the system flushed via fasting and the circumcision of heart. All to ensure we can reach the Spiritual Destination (Salvation), and have greater rewards when we get there for following His instructions to accomplish the mission along the path He laid out called “The Way.”

His map has two forms, the Spirit and the Truth.

John 4:23
But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in Spirit (Ruach) and Truth (Torah): for such doth the Father seek to be his worshippers.” Rabbi Yeshua of Nazareth

Testimony of John Chapter 4 Verse 24
God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship in Spirit (Ruach) and Truth (Emet).” Rabbi Yeshua of Nazareth

Psalm of King David 119 Verse 142.

Your righteousness is an everlasting righteousness, and your Instruction (Torah) is the truth.

Revelation of John Chapter 22 Verse 14

“Blessed are those who do His commandments, that they may have the right to the tree of life, and may enter through the gates into Life”

The Spirit is like a GPS/Warning lights.

It tells detailed information for each individual, which passengers to take on (the ones that can read a map well, or have a fuel card) and when to let them off at the next exit for their individual path to the same destination, warnings to stop at a certain place to rest, signals that you are getting overheated or need to refuel.
The Spirit will never contradict the Written Map, it will just add detailed instructions to each individual.

Letter to the Galatians Chapter 5 Verse 25

“And when we WALK in the Spirit we will be establishing and upholding the Law as a sign of our Faith”

The Word is like a Written Map.

The Word tells us which stops we must make for breaks and overnight. It tells us which exits are to be absolutely avoided, and which exits we must absolutely take. It also has a list of which kinds of passengers are to be prohibited and which kind we need to take on our journey.

The Written Map and the GPS (Truth and Spirit) go together. This is why the Ancient Hebrews called the Word (The Way, the Truth, and the Life) and Yeshua said He is the Word of YHVH (both Logos and Rhema) made flesh, and Revelations says that the Spirit of Christ is the Spirit of Prophecy.

When we follow our own maps instead, we end up lost. Our relationships, our purpose, our minds, souls, and body, all find themselves hitting dead ends and running out of fuel, and perishing in the wilderness. Deuteronomy 30. When we follow YHVH’s map, we find all of these things refueled and on the right Road.

King David said He delights in the Map YHVH laid out Psalm 119, but Paul warned that the Flesh (Human Stubbornness and Ego) is hostile to YHVH’s Map and Refuses to follow it.

Life is so much more meaningful when we follow YHVH’s Map instead of our own understanding.

Change by Tracy Chapman

If you knew that you would die today,
Saw the face of God and love,
Would you change?
Would you change?

If you knew that love can break your heart
When you’re down so low you cannot fall
Would you change?
Would you change?

How bad, how good does it need to get?
How many losses? How much regret?
What chain reaction would cause an effect?

Makes you turn around,
Makes you try to explain,
Makes you forgive and forget,
Makes you change?
Makes you change?

If you knew that you would be alone,
Knowing right, being wrong,
Would you change?
Would you change?

If you knew that you would find a truth
That brings up pain that can’t be soothed
Would you change?
Would you change?

How bad, how good does it need to get?
How many losses? How much regret?
What chain reaction would cause an effect?
Makes you turn around,
Makes you try to explain,
Makes you forgive and forget,
Makes you change?
Makes you change?

Are you so upright you can’t be bent?
If it comes to blows are you so sure you won’t be crawling?
If not for the good, why risk falling?
Why risk falling?

If everything you think you know,
Makes your life unbearable,
Would you change?
Would you change?

If you’d broken every rule and vow,
And hard times come to bring you down,
Would you change?
Would you change?

If you knew that you would die today,
If you saw the face of God and love,
Would you change?
Would you change?
Would you change?
Would you change?

If you saw the face of God and love
If you saw the face of God and love
Would you change?
Would you change?
